Tufting Technique....

The following pictures illustrate the steps of the manufacturing process.

Diamond Design :

Complex geometric design for a rug, 3m x 3m.
The design uses 7 colours.
Material: 100% pure New Zealand wool.
Pile height: 15mm.

Transferring the Design :

A canvas is stretched onto a frame.
The design is transferred to the canvas.
The colours are allocated.

Transferring the Design

Tufting the Design :

Tufting is carried out from the back.
A scaffold and movable platform is used to reach the working area.

Thin yarns run through a tufting gun.

Defining the Colours :

The rug is latexed, dried, and removed from the frame to begin the finishing process.
Working from the front, the junctions between two colour areas are separated, which results in a more defined line.
This is optional depending on the desired finish required.

Finally, the pile is sheared to the required quality and depth before leaving the factory.
